Forming questions with present perfect tense

To form questions in the present perfect tense, you need to invert the subject and the helping verb "have" or "has." The structure is:

Structure

Have/Has + subject + past participle (V3) + (rest of the sentence)?

Examples

  1. He has finished his homework. -> Has he finished his homework?

  2. You have been to Singapore. -> Have you been to singapore?

  3. They have gone to school. -> Have they gone to school?

Negative form questions

To form negative present perfect tense questions, we can simply need to add "not" after the helping verb, which is "has" or "have", or we can put "not" after the subject. Here are some examples from the above sentences.

  1. He has not finished his homework. -> Has he not finished his homework?, Hasn't he finished his homework?

  2. You have not been to Singapore. -> Have you not been to singapore?, Haven't you been to singapore?

  3. They have not gone to school. -> Have they not gone to school?, Haven't they gone to school?
