Structure for Questions with "Will"

To form simple future tense questions using "will", we only need to put "will" at the beginning of the sentence.

Examples

• She will travel tomorrow. -> Will she travel tomorrow?
• They will attend the meeting. -> Will they attend the meeting?
• You will help me with this task. -> Will you help me with this task?

Structure for Questions with "Be Going To"

Forming simple future tense questions that use "be going to" is also very simple. Just put "verb to be" at the beginning of the sentence. And do not forget subject-verb agreement.

Examples

• She is going to travel tomorrow. -> Is she going to travel tomorrow?
• They are going to attend the meeting. -> Are they going to attend the meeting?
• I am going to help with this project. -> Am I going to help with this project?

Negative questions

We can form negative questions with simple future tense just like any other tenses. We can put "not" after "will" or "verb to be" to sound natural (commonly used as contraction "won't"), or we can put "not" after the subject to make the question sounds more formal.

With "will"

• Will she travel tomorrow? -> Won't she travel tomorrow? / Will she not travel tomorrow?
• Will they attend the meeting? -> Won't they attend the meeting / Will they not attend the meeting?

With "be going to"

• Is she going to travel tomorrow? -> Isn't she going to travel tomorrow? / Is she not going to travel tomorrow?
• Are they going to attend the meeting? -> Aren't they going to attend the meeting? / Are they not going to attend the meeting?
