Form negative future perfect continuous sentences

Forming negative sentences in the future perfect continuous tense is straightforward. We can do so by adding "not" after the auxiliary verb "will" or "am/is/are" to indicate negation. This method is consistent with other future tenses, making it easier to remember! 😊

Structure of gegative sentences

1. With "will"

Structure
Subject + will not (won't) + have been + verb(-ing)

Example:

  • She will have been studying for hours by the time we arrive. -> She will not have been studying for hours by the time we arrive.
  • He will have been exercising for an hour when the gym closes. -> He will not have been exercising for an hour when the gym closes.

2. With "be going to"

Structure
Subject + am/is/are + not + going to have been + verb(-ing) + object/complement

Example:

  • They are going to have been working on the project for a week by Friday. -> They are not going to have been working on the project for a week by Friday.
  • She is going to have been preparing all day, so she will feel confident for the interview. -> She is not going to have been preparing all day, so she will not feel confident for the interview.
