Forming negative sentences in the future perfect tense is simple. The structure is similar to other negative forms in future tenses.

Sentence structure

  1. Using "Will":

    Structure
    Subject + will + not + have + past participle (V3) + [rest of the sentence].

    Examples

    • I will not have cleaned the house by the time they arrive.
    • He will not have read the book by tomorrow morning.
    • We will not have arrived at the station before the train departs.
  2. Using "Be Going To":

    Structure
    Subject + is/am/are + not + going to have + past participle (V3) + [rest of the sentence].

    Examples

    • She is not going to have learned French by next year.
    • They are not going to have solved the issue before the meeting.
    • We are not going to have reached our destination by sunset.

Comparison of affirmative and negative sentences
